Ordering and Timing

  • Q: How long does it take for my new mailbox to be installed after placing the order?

    • A: Installation time can vary based on our current inventory and manufacturer lead times. We strive to complete installations in three weeks or less. If the item is in stock, installation may be completed in less than a week!

  • Q: Can I order my mailbox in advance for a new home that is not yet settled?

    • A: Yes, this is a great idea! We recommend ordering at least a month before your settlement date. We will coordinate with you and have your beautiful new mailbox installed as soon as you move in, as most builders do not permit installation before the settlement day.

  • Q: Do your mailbox posts conform to USPS requirements?

    • A: Absolutely. All of our installations are performed according to all current United States Postal Service (USPS) regulations regarding height and setback to ensure proper mail delivery.

  • Q: How do I choose the right mailbox for my home?

A: Consider these factors: Style - Match your home's architecture (traditional, modern, craftsman) • Size - Do you receive packages or large mail regularly? • Security - Some mailboxes offer locking features • Maintenance - PVC posts require zero maintenance vs. wood • Budget - Packages range from $525 to $1,525. Not sure? We're happy to help! Call 484-551-0393 for a free consultation.

  • Q: Can I see the mailboxes before ordering?

A: All our mailbox packages are displayed with photos on our website. If you'd like to discuss options in detail, give us a call at 484-551-0393 and we'll help you choose the perfect match for your home.

  • Q: Can I order a different mailbox than the ones in your packages?

A: Our packages are carefully curated to offer the best quality and value. However, we're happy to discuss custom options. Contact us at 484-551-0393 to discuss your specific needs.

Installation Process and Details

  • Q: How are the posts put in the ground?

    • A: For maximum stability and longevity, all of our posts are set in quick-set concrete. This ensures the post will not move, and your new mailbox will be perfectly straight and level. For a typical installation, we dig a hole approximately 30 inches deep.

  • Q: What is Rotbloc, and is it used on my post?

    • A: Rotbloc, post rot protector, prevents ground-line rot and decay that commonly leads to the failure of wooden posts. Most of our mailbox posts have a 4" x 4" pressure-treated wood post installed under a PVC or metal sleeve. This extra step we take ensures you get the maximum service life out of your mailbox installation, potentially doubling the post's life.

  • Q: Will you remove my old mailbox and post?

    • A: Yes! Removal and disposal of your old mailbox and post is included in all installations at no extra charge.

  • Q: What if my old mailbox post is difficult to remove from the ground?

    • A: During a standard installation, we aim to remove the old post and set your new post in the same location. Should difficulties arise (such as excessive concrete preventing removal), we will cut the old post below ground level and set your new post in concrete close to the original hole. We make every attempt to avoid damage to any plantings within the work area.

Special Requests (Masonry)

  • Q: Can you remove my old stone or brick (masonry) mailbox post?

    • A: We can, yes, but this is an exception and will incur an additional fee depending on the size and complexity of the removal. Please ask for a quote when placing your order.

  • Q: Does Brandywine Mailbox build new stone or brick mailbox posts?

    • A: We specialize in post-mounted mailbox installations and do not build new masonry posts.
